According to its structure, Holy Assumption Svyatogorsk Lavra is a male diocesan convent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Svyatogorsk Lavra is under the direct control of its sacred archimandrite – Metropolitan of Donetsk and Mariupol Hilarion. The body of the monastery administration is the governor in conjunction with the spiritual cathedral of the Lavra. Since January 20, 1995, the vicar of the Donetsk diocese, Metropolitan Arseny of Svyatogorsk, has been the vicar of the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Monastery.
